Two Superstars

Today was a great day. Mrs Lunn couldn't decide between two great stories so she chose both Keira and Charlie to put their work in the window! They are clever little writers!

Zoo Animals

Today in Discovery, we learnt about zoo animals.  Mrs Lunn set up a vet clinic in our room so we could treat some sick animals.  Leevi would make an excellent vet.  He was very gentle.  Some of us worked together to make a zoo out of wooden blocks.  We had a great time.

Our Superstar.

Today Mikaere wrote an amazing story about our assembly.  He was very proud of his work.  He sounded out the word PLAY all by himself.  Mrs Lunn was impressed!

School Assembly

We just presented our first assembly. We were so confident and proud. Our teacher was really proud of us.  Everyone said we did a wonderful job!

Dinosaur Discovery

Today in Discovery we learnt about Dinosaurs. Keira and Leevi dug up dinosaur bones.  They had to put together the skeletons of dinosaurs.  We had to guess what dinosaurs they were.  James painted a picture of a volcano.  Charlie tried making a dinosaur out of mobilo.  Nikayla enjoyed playing with the big foam letters.  Issy and Kaitlyn played on the ipad.  Mikaere enjoyed reading the dinosaur books.  We have been really busy!  Mrs Lunn is going to help us make playdough soon!  We can't wait!

Today's superstar writer!

Today Kaleb wrote great story about Dinosaurs!  We put it in the window for everyone to enjoy reading it.  Well done Kaleb.

Today Charlie and his Mum practised writing some letters.  Well done Charlie and Mum too!

Our ipad

Today Kaleb had a turn practising forming letters on the ipad.  He thought it was great fun!

Snow at School!

Last night it snowed in Palmerston North!  The snow was still on the ground when we came to school this morning.

We went outside and played in the snow.  It made a crunching sound under our feet!  We found big sheets of ice.  Issy and Nikayla collected some.  Lots of the other school children were playing on the field in the snow.

It is a very special day.  We will always remember the day it snowed at School!

Charlie's Handwriting

Charlie did a beautiful job with his handwriting.  We thought it was so wonderful, we sat his book in the window so everyone could see it!  Well done Charlie!

Welcome to Riverdale!

Today in assembly, we were given welcome certificates from Mrs Peck.  We were so proud!

Clever Kids

Today Kaleb completed the alphabet puzzle all by himself. He showed great determination.

Frosty Friday

Today Mrs Lunn made us some ice to play with. There were lots of interesting things in the ice.  We found out in Discovery Time that ice is water that has been frozen.  We had a great time playing with the ice.  Frosty Friday was fun!

Reading

Today Nikayla wrote ner name with foam letters.  She is clever!

The Gingerbread Man

Today we read the story of the Gingerbread Man.  It got us thinking...

There must be a way for the Gingerbread Man to cross the river without getting eaten by the fox!

We brainstormed our ideas of ways for him to safely cross the river.

After some serious decision making, we each settled on a way to help the Gingerbread Man.

We made a collection of bridges, boats and an aeroplane.

Welcome to LC 3's Blog for 2011!

LC 3 started this term with nine New Entrant children.  We have two teachers, Mrs Margaret Wiggins and Mrs Jo Lunn.  We also have a puppet called Lambchop!
